Build The Weekend
Make the decisions once, send one link and keep everybody working from the same plan.
Start The Weekend With A Bang
We run The Stand-Up Experience at The Original Oak. The nights are entirely built around the audience and their lives and interests. They feel organic, unpredictable and alive. There is no script.
Choose the exact seats together through stand-up.co.uk, then return to the Oak on Saturday as part of your Otley Run.
Sort The Useful Bits
The route is easier when the group has already agreed the basics.
Plan food
Eat before starting and agree where the group will pause for food later.
Choose a lead
Give one person the route and use obvious meeting points if anybody gets separated.
Set a sensible pace
Water, soft drinks and skipped stops all count. The plan should serve the group, not the other way around.
Plan the journey home
Agree the finish point and transport before the day gets busy.
Otley Run FAQs
Where does the Otley Run start and finish?
The popular route starts in Far Headingley, commonly at Woodies Ale House, and works towards The Dry Dock near Leeds city centre. Venues and access can change, so check the route before travelling.
How long should we allow?
Most groups treat it as an all-day activity. Your timings will depend on group size, queues, food stops and how many venues you choose to include.
Do we have to complete every stop?
No. Use the planner to create a route that suits your group, agree a finish point and leave enough time for food, water and travel home.
Can we start the weekend with comedy?
Yes. Upcoming Friday comedy dates at The Original Oak are shown above and seats can be selected and booked together through stand-up.co.uk.
Do people wear costumes?
Many groups choose a shared fancy-dress theme. Use the planner to create a shortlist and share it before the weekend.
Is this an official Otley Run website?
No. This is an independent planning tool from stand-up.co.uk. It does not represent the pubs and cannot guarantee opening, admission or group policies.
About this planner: This independent Otley Run planning page is operated by stand-up.co.uk, which also sells tickets for The Stand-Up Experience. Route information is provided to help groups plan and should be checked against each venue's current information.
